Forgiveness
Ministries Statement of Faith
We believe in one God, who is good and perfect in
all of His qualities and is the creator of all things. We believe
that God is eternally existent as three persons; the Father, the
Son and the Holy Spirit.
We
believe that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative word of
God, essential for all matters of faith and life.
We
believe that all people are broken by and need to be rescued from
both the penalty and the consequences of sin. We believe that sin
has been and is destroying every aspect of the human experience.
We
believe that God is the only one able to resolve the problem of
sin and restore people to a condition of perfect life, love and
truth. We believe that God’s restorative work of salvation
is entirely dependent upon the person and work of Jesus Christ.
We
believe in the uniqueness of Jesus of Nazareth, that He is fully
God and fully human at the same time. We believe in His virgin birth,
in His sinless life, in His message, His miracles, His crucifixion
and His physical resurrection. We believe that the execution of
Jesus for sins makes forgiveness possible and is the basis for salvation.
We believe that He is now with the Father and has authority over
all things both visible and invisible.
We
believe that God loves all people, feels our pain and brokenness,
offers salvation to all people and is eager to receive, heal and
restore anyone who sincerely believes in Jesus, wanting to become
a person of love rather than of a person of sin.
We
believe that everyone who accepts God’s offer of salvation
by depending upon Jesus for life and godliness is reconnected to
God and is inwardly transformed by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the work of the Holy Spirit results in the ability to
live a Christ-like life characterized by a sincere and practical
love for God and for all people.
We
believe that all people who are indwelt by the Holy Spirit are equal
and vital members of the Church of Jesus Christ, which is the continued
expression of His life on earth and of which He is the supreme leader.
We
believe in the physical return of Jesus, in the physical resurrection
of all people to stand in judgment before Him, and in the eternal
separation of those who love Him from those who do not.
